Introduction and user guide
Thank you for visiting the Climate Training Kit, which offers an interactive set of training materials prepared by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Climate Centre.
This kit has been developed for the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement to support capacity-building on climate risk management and policy dialogues climate change. It aims to help trainers and facilitators shape interactive training events or workshops, and tap into existing knowledge and tools within the Movement.
We encourage everyone to read the user guide to understand how the kit should be used; this includes information on terminology, methodology and purpose.
This kit contains five modules, all updated 2019-21 and split into sub-modules addressing specific topics for different training purposes. Trainers can tap into different modules and chose which products match their needs.
Please note there is also an IFRC E-learning course climate science, climate advocacy and climate action, availabale at the IFRC E-learning platform: here. While the CTK is a suite of resources ready to be tailored to specific trainings, this IFRC online learning course offers a more traditional e-learning format. These tools are complementary to one another.
Please find a few generic training support materials for facilitators:
- Training facilitator tips
- Game facilitation tips
- Facilitator tips for agenda setting
- Serious fun: general facilitation tips and energizers
This kit is designed to share all innovative and interactive training tools related to climate with trainers and facilitators in the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. All products will, of course, still need to be tailored to local context and audience. We see all products as a menu of options for training sessions.
If you like support on how to tailor or select tools in this kit, please reach out to kit@climatecentre.org.
